Photographer, editor, art director, teacher and collector, Jerry Muller now celebrates his 60-year involvement in communications and the arts. His career began in midtown Manhattan, where he worked as assistant to several outstanding photo-illustrators. Outside the studios, he wandered the city streets with his Rolleiflex (1950-55), and those very early shots still remain some of his most significant and widely published images.

In the 1960s, Muller worked as editor and art director for a number of national and regional magazines, including Teen Beat, Reproductions Review, Country Beautiful, Orange County Illustrated and Orange County Sun.

He received his B.S. in Advertising from Marquette University, his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from National University, and studied art at New York University and Layton School of art in Milwaukee. For several years, he taught publication design at Orange Coast College.

In 1970, he founded Creative Services, a Newport Beach advertising, photography and design firm, changing the name to Museum Graphics in 1978 when he began circulating The Moving Image and other exhibitions to museums nationwide.

He has had solo exhibitions of his photography at many galleries, libraries and universities, including Portland State University, The Art Institute of California, and UCI. Winner of numerous awards for his writing, art direction and photography, he has long been listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Art.
