 t concert in 2009-10 by exploring music with a distinctly English appeal. 
 Conductor Irene Kroesen leads the young but highly talented string musicia
 ns that make up this ensemble in a program highlighting music by three Bri
 tish composers with diverse styles of music including Purcell's music from
  'Abdelazar'\; Kerr's Fantasy on Amazing Grace\; and Rutter's 'Suite for S
 trings.' Purcell wrote a great deal of incidental music for plays and 'Abd
 elazar\,' lively\, tuneful and often elegant\, added life and vitality tha
 t the plays often lacked. Amazing Grace was originally written by an Engli
 sh slave trader who found salvation after a life-threatening storm\, and R
 utter is a composer with a strong sense of tradition whose works are alway
