FULLERTON
Located in Northern Orange County, the City of Fullerton has a population of over 130,000 and is home to California’s largest State University. The tree-lined streets of its Downtown area feature a number of distinct restaurants, specialty shops, and entertainment venues which have joined together to build the art community by participating in a free monthly art walk on the first Friday of every month.
Fullerton is also home to a diverse and ever-growing theater scene. The Fullerton Civic Light Opera, one of the largest theater companies in Southern California, is based at the Plummer Auditorium on Chapman Ave. Local educational institutions, such as Fullerton College and Fullerton High School's Academy of the Arts, also perform numerous large-scale productions there whereas the Maverick Theater, Stages Theatre, and the Hunger Artists Theater Company put on shows year-round in their own storefront theaters. The Muckenthaler Cultural Center offers extraordinary exhibitions, performances and engaging educational programs and The Fullerton Museum Center develops and presents multi-disciplinary exhibitions and educational programs in the areas of history, science, and art.
