Call for Artists!
The Irvine Fine Arts Center is pleased to announce the annual juried All Media exhibition and invites Southern California-based artists to submit artwork for consideration.
This year, the exhibition will be juried by multidisciplinary artist Kim Abeles.
ELIGIBILITY
The exhibition is open to all artists residing in Southern California. All entries must be original and not shown previously at the Irvine Fine Arts Center. All media is eligible: painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, craft, installation, video and digital art.
IMPORTANT DATES
Submission deadline: July 7
Artwork delivery: Aug. 7–10
Exhibition dates: Aug. 26–Oct. 28
Opening reception: Aug. 26, 4–6 p.m.
ABOUT THE JUROR
Kim Abeles is a Los Angeles-based artist whose installations and community projects cross disciplines and media to explore biography, geography and environment. She has created projects with the California Science Center, air pollution control agencies, health clinics and mental health departments, and natural history museums. Abeles received fellowships from John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, J. Paul Getty Trust Fund for the Visual Arts, California Community Foundation, and Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Her work is in public collections including MOCA, LACMA, Berkeley Art Museum, California African American Museum, and National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. Abeles’ journals, books, and process documents are archived at the Center for Art + Environment, Nevada Museum of Art.
