APA Jr./APA Kids

Back for our tenth summer, APA Jr./APA Kids is a 2-week camp that incorporates dance, vocal music, art, creative dramatics, and just this year we have added media and guitar! Starting at 8:45 daily, campers will be grouped according to ages, and instructed in 55 minute classes with a nutritional break. The camp ends at 12:30, with the exception of the final performance on the last Friday of the camp. Our themes this year are “APA Goes Under the Big Top” and “Surf’s Up APA!”. Your camper can take just one two week session, or if they enjoy it, both! Content will differ between the sessions, so no APA Jr./APA Kids experience is exactly the same.

APA Jr./APA Kids is designed to enhance self-esteem, build bridges among groups, and broaden creative skills and performance experience. This is a partnership between the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (APA) and the Huntington Beach Adult School Community Education Department. The classes take place in our beautiful arts faciliites on the Huntington Beach High School campus, and is staffed by industry professionals, credentialed teachers, and students in training.
