The program, including Tchaikovsky's triumphant "Fifth," will be conducted by guest conductor Arild Remmereit. Remmereit brings his inspiring, charismatic style to the Symphony for a concert that includes a young superstar pianist?Ingrid Fliter?demonstrating why Schumann's concerto is considered the epitome of great romantic piano music. Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony, with its triumphal final movement, and Norwegian composer Groven's melodious and celebratory "Hjalar-Ljod" (Joyful Shout) Overture, complete a program of sweeping emotional range.
