Start 2009 out on the right note ? with Pacific Symphony and two critically acclaimed guest artists, as they join forces on stage for a veritable musical feast that spans Eastern and Western Europe. In the spotlight for "Brilliant Mozart, Dazzling Liszt" are Janacek's dark symphonic yarn about Cossack warriors, "Taras Bulba," and Enesco's lively Rumanian folk dances, "Romanian Rhapsody No.1" ? contrasted against the brilliance of Mozart's "Prague" Symphony. Then, Liszt's dazzling mastery of the piano is matched by rising star Freddy Kemp performing the composer's "Piano Concerto No. 1."
