Sonny Rollins
April 30, 2009
The Village Voice calls Sonny Rollins "the last jazz immortal." When Rollins picks up the tenor saxophone, the world listens. Rollins first recorded in 1949 and, more than a half century later, remains one of the few surviving musicians from a golden era of jazz likely to never be equaled. The most formidable of jazz improvisers remains a living inspiration to musicians and audiences worldwide.
