Carlos Miguel Prieto returns to the Pacific Symphony to conduct works by three Mexican composers: Ana Lara's new work featuring organ contrasts with Moncayo's colorful orchestral fantasy, while Revultas' smoldering score hurls itself at the audience like a Mexican Rite of Spring. Still, the highlight of the evening's program is Beethoven's timeless Emperor Concerto.
