This story has enchanted us for centuries: a young wife weaves 1,001 hypnotic tales to captivate her husband and avoid execution. Rimsky-Korsakov's musical version has been described as "a Technicolor tour de force." It is preceded by a musical tour of the Arabian Peninsula led by Maestro St. Clair and guest conductor Missak Baghboudarian. Hear the exotic colors and instruments of the Middle East performed by leading musicians from Damascus. Alan Chapman hosts a free preview talk at 7:00pm.
