A Valentine's preview, featuring 'Winter' from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Tchaikovsky's 'Waltz' from Serenade for Strings, Mozart's Allegro Maestoso and John Dowland's Suite for Strings. This program will feature one of the 20th centuries' most important composers. Ragtime, Igor Stravinsky's dedication to American jazz, a work he wrote before actually ever hearing this new musical idiom that was raging across the Atlantic. The Hutchins Consort is the only ensemble of professional musicians in the world today performing on an octet of harmonically matched and scaled string instruments designed and crafted by American luthier and acoustician Dr. Carleen Hutchins. The group presents an annual concert series, as well as community and educational programs throughout Southern California.
