Concerto for Ney and Orchestra, Hossein Omoumi Bloch - Suite for Viola and Orchestra, Jerzy Kosmala Dvorak - Symphony No. 9 "From the New World." Since its inception in 1970 the UCI Symphony Orchestra has trained both students and community musicians alike. Through its performances of works from the standard classical and contemporary symphonic repertoire, its accompanying of numerous soloists, as well as its yearly operatic and musical theater productions, the orchestra has been a visible artistic presence in the Irvine community. Pre-concert Conversation: May 1, 2009, 7:00pm.
