August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play is the sixth in his historic ten-play cycle chronicling the African-American experience in the 20th Century. Set in the 1950s, the play centers on Troy Maxson, once a famous baseball player in the Negro Leagues who must reconcile his anger at past racial inequities with wanting the best for his family's future. SCR last visited the work of this extraordinary American playwright with its production of The Piano Lesson. Starring Charlie Robinson (Night Court) as Maxson, this performance is directed by Seret Scott.
