Jean-Baptiste "Django" Reinhardt, the Belgian native and gypsy jazz guitarist, was born on January 23, 1910. The Center celebrates his centennial by presenting an ensemble of the finest European and American jazz musicians. Included in this tribute are French gypsy guitar legend Dorado Schmitt, his son and protege, guitarist Samson Schmitt, French accordion virtuoso Ludovic Beier, French violin master Pierre Blanchard, American jazz bassist Brian Torff and American jazz clarinet and tenor saxophone soloist Ken Peplowski.
