Built to Spill is an American indie rock band base in Boise, Idaho. Former Treepeople guitarist/vocalist Dough Marsch formed the band in 1992 with Brett Netson and Ralf Youtz. Following the release of their first album, the latter two were soon replaced by Brett Nelson and Andy Capps. Between recording albums in 1995, the band gained exposure by playing on the Lollapalooza tour.
