Tchaikovsky's brilliant, passionate and soul-searching violin concerto is achingly wrought by the mesmerizing virtuoso Midori, now among the world's most sought after violinists. Brahms' infinitely rich, astonishingly simple and enchanting Symphony No. 1 and Ticheli's colorful Shooting Stars, using all the bells and whistles of the orchestra, figuratively and literally, are also on the program.
