VISUAL ARTS ART WALKS
October 9 - October 28, 2009
Before digital photography and Photoshop, photographers used alternative developing and printing processes to enhance, enliven and manipulate their images artistically. many film purists still do. Alternate processes allow artists to create new worlds and alternated universes in which images change, colors shift, and light plays tricks, sometimes masking, other times letting the basic image show through.
IFAC photographers Edward heyman and Joseph Munoz, who brought you last year's highly popular Toy Camera exhibit, return with several local artists to share their use of Sabattier (solarization), cyano-type, cross-processing, chemical painting, toning, encaustic, Polaroid lifets and transfers, infra-red and pinhole cameras to change the way people look at the world and the way the world looks at people.
