With an unusual name, Teutonic beats and aggressive sound, it is often assumed that Nitzer Ebb originated within the German techno scene, but the truth of the matter is that this trio hailed from the UK, Chelmsford in Essex to be precise. Formed in 1982 by school friends Douglas McCarthy [Lead vocals, guitar], Vaughn 'Bon' Harris [vocals, percussion, guitars] and David Gooday, [percussion], Nitzer Ebb were influenced by the harder sounds of the early techno pop scene, distilling elements from several other genres too until they had created their own identifiable sound, characterized by extremely powerful rhythms, minimal sequenced hooklines and fierce, chanted lyrics.

      I agree with the prior review. The Show was very well done, though the sound was significantly better at their Key Club gig. Darvoset looked and sounded great, a very good fit with Nitzer Ebb. Agree... Expand

      I agree with the prior review. The Show was very well done, though the sound was significantly better at their Key Club gig. Darvoset looked and sounded great, a very good fit with Nitzer Ebb. Agree that ICANDY wasn't a good fit and didn't play a good show, but hey they were there and tried. All in all it is nice to see The Galaxy doing shows like this- WINNERS! Collapse

      Nitzer Ebb, what can one say- there is a reason they are legends. The crowd was in the palm of their hands from the first beats and it never let up. They stormed out onto stage and let fly with a solid selection of older favorites and newer material that gave everyone in the audience what they came for. Not only were they amazing performers, they are also superlative people. They spent a good amount of time posing with us fans for some memorable pictures and conversation. I for one will be there when they return to California. The only reason I gave this show less than 5 stars was I felt ICANDY was not a good fit for this show and did not give a good performance, but that being said, Nitzer Ebb and Darvoset carried the night and it was still well forth the $20 I paid and the pictures of me and the lads from Nitzer Ebb will be with me forever.
