    Originally formed in 1977, The SKULLS were one of LA's true original punk bands. No 'rich kids,' this band was the genuine article. Raised on a diet of MC5, Stooges, T-Rex and Bowie, The SKULLS added spices which included The Saints, Vibrators, X-Ray Spex, The Ruts, Pistols, The Avengers and The Ramones to become a staple ingredient of the LA punk scene. The scene went stagnant, however, and during the next two decades of commercialized pop punk, rave, trance and other mind-numbing product, singer Billy Bones lay low. Every few years he would briefly dart out of the shadows to assault the senses of unsuspecting audiences, only to quickly disappear again, leaving them stunned and wondering what the hell had hit them. Billy waited patiently for the right climate for him to re-surface permanently.
