Music and Art
May 8, 2011
Ravel adored children and wrote his Mother Goose Suite for young listeners and for young players, two of whom premiered the piece. Bruce Adolphe wrote "The Tiger's Ear" as a musical painting, which is an appropriate prelude to Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, the composer's elegy for a close friend, written after he attended a memorial exhibition of his friend's paintings.
