Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings 20th Anniversary Celebration
May 15, 2011
Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings opens its 20th anniversary celebration with Frescobaldi’s “Toccata.” Next, past members join the ensemble for Handel’s “Passacaglia” for violin and viola. Then, Haydn’s “Toy Symphony,” originally written with parts for toy instruments, precedes a new work by McBrien. The concert concludes with Bartok’s “Romanian Folk Dances,” based on seven fiddle tunes from Transylvania.
