Warriors, Tombs and Temples: China's Enduring Legacy

Bowers Museum is proud to announce the sequel to Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China’s First Emperor,l, Warriors, Tombs and Temples: China’s Enduring Legacy.

Showcasing the latest discoveries from Emperor Qin’s tomb complex of warriors, including the one and only mysterious green-faced warrior, this extraordinary new exhibition provides an intimate glimpse into 3 ancient dynasties – the Qin, the Han and the Tang. 1000 years of Chinese history will be on display, including the massive army of miniaturized terra cotta warriors with smiling faces that were characteristic of the Han dynasty.

From the royal tombs and temples of the imperial city of Xi’an, visitors will treasure an opulent display of gold, silver and gemstones from the Tang dynasty, accentuating Xi’an’s strategic location along the world famous Silk Road. Highlighting what is sure to be an unforgettable experience — a gift from the Tang Emperor of a set of five nesting boxes that once held Buddha’s finger bone as the most holy of religious relics—an unprecedented coup for Bowers.

Educational programming, lectures and performances tied into the exhibit complete the experience.

Don’t miss the only opportunity to see this amazing exhibit on the West Coast!
