The Landscape of Movement

During The Landscape of Movement, spectators will be transformed into performers when dance company Motion/TRIBE and artistic director Marie de la Palme lead visitors through a series of workshop stations that explore the themes of movement and choreography. The audience will then experience an hour-long performance as Motion/TRIBE demonstrates the concepts explored during the workshop. Some members of the audience will have the unique opportunity to partake in one of the numbers utilizing the movements they were taught.
The repertoire will consist of several award-winning numbers that include a live opera accompaniment, student dancers from Irvine Valley College, and a cage prop. This indoor event will take place inside historic Hangar 244 at the Orange County Great Park!
Motion/TRIBE is a dance company of seasoned professionals with a spectrum of skills and talents who collaborate with Artistic Director Marie de la Palme to bring her concepts and choreographic vision to life. The company’s award-winning repertoire about the life of the soul includes works in contemporary ballet, aerial acrobatics, ballroom, tap, yoga, and modern dance. A veteran in commercial dance, concert dance, and choreography, Marie de la Palme is now a full-time faculty member at Irvine Valley College and the Artistic Director of IVC’s Performing Dance Ensemble.
