Contemporary Traditionalists: A West Coast Perspective

Featuring 48 works by 18 artists, the exhibit is a glimpse into the history and progression of art on the West Coast, especially as it relates to the arts in Southern Orange County. The artists included in the exhibit are Scott Albert, Ken Auster, Bruce Burr, Paul Cheng, W. Brad Elsberry, Eric Gerdau, Fred Hope, Gina Mead Howie, Mariko Ishii, Mark Jacobucci, Susan Jarecky, Robin Johnson, Casey Parlette, April Raber, Brittany Ryan, Bradford J. Salamon, Gerald Schwartz and Gregg Stone. Focusing on the traditional art forms of painting and sculpture, the exhibition takes a fresh look at Festival artists living and working in South Orange County today.
“The Festival of Arts is very pleased to partner with The Huntington Beach Art Center to bring this exhibit together,” said curator Martin Betz, Director of Exhibits at the Festival of Arts. “It is an excellent opportunity for the Festival artists.”
Contemporary Traditionalists: A West Coast Perspective acknowledges the long tradition of art making in the region and celebrates the innovation and spirit of this exceptional group of artists whose work captures personalized perceptions of the West Coast.
