    Movie Mondays: "The Music Man"

Presented by and Newport Beach Film Festival

    August 6, 2012

    Movie Mondays:

Robert Preston’s Harold Hill is a con man who hatches a no-fail plan to swindle a small Midwestern town’s marching band but his plan goes completely awry when he meets and falls in love with Shirley Jones’ Marian Paroo, a local librarian and piano teacher. Composer Meredith Willson’s infectious score features tunes that have now become standards such as “Seventy Six Trombones,” “Ya Got Trouble,” "Goodnight My Someone" and "Till There Was You." As Orange County’s place to experience the best and brightest Broadway shows live on stage, Movie Mondays offers the biggest and most popular musical films under the stars and all for free. Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs or other easily portable seating items as well as snacks.
