Gallery Tour of 'California Palms'

The Muckenthaler Cultural Center’s Imagination Celebration event will include guided tours of its featured exhibition and an all-ages art activity. The event will be held on Thursday, May 11, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

The featured exhibition will be California Palms, curated by renowned Los Angeles artist Frank Romero. California Palms gathers together the work of over a dozen artists in painting, sculpture, prints and other media on the subject of the ubiquitous palm tree in our urban and suburban landscape.

The timeline for the event is as follows:

6:00 – 7:00 p.m.          15 minute mini tours of the exhibition with Muckenthaler Chief Curator Matthew Leslie in the Muckenthaler galleries.

7:30 – 8:00 p.m.          Drop-in art activity themed to the exhibition in our Center Circle Courtyard with Muckenthaler Master Instructor Willie Tabata.

7:30 – 9:00 p.m.          Guided tour of the exhibition with guest curator and artist Frank Romero in the Muckenthaler galleries.

All activities and tours are free of charge.
