Orange County Women's Chorus - Rocking the Boat

In our stirring spring concert, we’ll sing of the courage and the nostalgia of refugees, immigrants, and all manner of seekers who leave their homes behind to journey to a strange land. This unique, challenging, and uplifting program features Abbie Betinis’s breathtaking From Behind the Caravan: Songs of Hâfez, the world premiere of a stunning new commissioned work by renowned composer Joan Szymko, and much more. Join us 30 minutes before each performance to meet the composer!

Each of our concerts this season is about home, and we’ll introduce a local nonprofit at each concert that is helping to make this community a home. We are proud to introduce you to Tiyya, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping refugees and newly arrived immigrants feel at home, at the April concerts.

The concerts will take place at St. Wilfrid of York Episcopal Church, 18631 Chapel Lane, Huntington Beach on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. and Newport Harbor Lutheran Church, 798 Dover Drive, Newport Beach on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
