Laguna Art Museum

The Laguna Art Museum focuses on the cultural heritage of their huge, diverse and powerful state, and on the unique history and accomplishments of Laguna Beach. From the turn of the century through the 1930s, Laguna Beach was home to one of the most significant artists' colonies on the Pacific Coast. Along with its counterpart, the Oakland Museum of California Art in northern California, it has been at the forefront of a trend among California museums to focus on regional art history.

      I tend to enjoy art that makes you go, "huh??" but this show is more of an "uhh" than a "huh?" and that's not exactly a good thing. Some of the pieces are silly and intriguing and you could easily get... Expand

      I tend to enjoy art that makes you go, "huh??" but this show is more of an "uhh" than a "huh?" and that's not exactly a good thing. Some of the pieces are silly and intriguing and you could easily get lost in them for more than a few minutes, just as I did, but the rest are a bit of a disappointment. I do, however, like how the artists created work specifically for the show as it's always a unique experience to see different takes on the same idea. Collapse

      We took our 4 1/2 year old daughter and she loved it. We discovered a new artist, made lots of crafts, heard some classical music and had snacks! All in a all, a great Saturday outing.

      We came in at the end and they had a alot of fun activities but a couple of snotty people who work at the Museum seemed not so thrilled about having kids in their art museum.
