Irvine Valley College Theatre Department

The Theatre Department at Irvine Valley College (IVC) is geared toward providing the student with a comprehensive theatre experience encompassing all aspects of acting, directing, design and theatre production as well as an introduction to theatre history. Students may structure their own program to suit their personal goals and experience level through enrolling in a wide range of courses as well as through participating in the theatre department's highly acclaimed productions. Strong emphasis is placed on preparing and training theatre students to meet future goals of higher education in theatre or employment in the many facets of the entertainment industry. Headed by Ron Ellison, the theatre department faculty is comprised of a highly talented group of theatre professionals who bring to IVC their many years of experience working as designers and directors in professional venues. Students have the opportunity to take classes from as well as be in productions guided by industry professionals who can guide the student toward discovering a new career path or enriching an existing goal of continued training and experience in the theatre arts.
