The Irvine Museum embraces a principal role in the education and furtherance of this beautiful and important regional variant of American Impressionism that has come to be associated with California and its remarkable landscape.

Program description

California Impressionist Painting Tour: The Irvine Museum provides the fourth graders and above attending public and private schools in the Orange County school districts a free tour of the museum. Exhibits are of paintings of the California Impression period (1890 to 1930). Displays are changed every three to four months. Donation of a complete set of 12 hardbound museum publications of art is mailed to the school upon receiving a written request on letterhead. An outreach program is available with a slide and lecture presentation at the school upon request and a reservation is made.

Field trips can be arranged every Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00am for a tour of the museum for students and their teachers.
