Soka Performing Arts Center, 1 University Dr, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656

Soka Performing Arts Center is located on the beautiful hilltop campus of Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo. Our facility includes the 1,032-seat Concert Hall featuring world-class acoustics designed by master acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota, designer of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. We also have an intimate 350-seat Black Box Theatre that allows for multiple seating configurations including club seating with bistro tables.

More than 500 performances have taken place since the center’s dedication on May 27, 2011. We are continuing to expand our programming and outreach with the addition of a Children’s Concert Series, Blues Festival, and the only Great Pianists Series on the West Coast. From classical and jazz to world and contemporary music, the Soka Performing Arts Center has become a prized space for artists and audiences alike.

We are proud to be the home of the Pacific Symphony Chamber Orchestra. Our Sundays@Soka Series with Pacific Symphony continues to be one of our most popular series year after year. Our presentations with other Orange County arts organizations have enabled us to reach further into our community to offer arts education and programming. Our annual partnership with the Philharmonic Society of Orange County enables us to bring over 7,000 school children to Soka Performing Arts Center to experience live performances with outstanding musicians.

With its world-class acoustics and first-class performances, Soka Performing Arts Center is quickly becoming one of the cultural jewels of Orange County.

COVID-19 UPDATES & INFORMATION

Our Response to COVID-19 :

Soka Performing Arts Center is ready to welcome you back to our beautiful concert hall this season. At Soka Performing Arts Center, our priority is to create an environment in which audiences, artists, volunteers, students and staff are safe and comfortable while attending a performance. No two performing arts venues are the same, and many have differing protocols when it comes to COVID-19.

After closely monitoring trends related to the pandemic, and the recommendations from Orange County health authorities, Soka Performing Arts Center will no longer require proof of a negative COVID-19 test or vaccination for entry to performances. Though masks will not be required for most* performances, we strongly recommend guests 2+ years of age wear masks consistent with CDC guidelines (completely covering the nose, mouth and under the chin) while inside our venues and public spaces. All staff, crew and volunteers at Soka Performing Arts Center will be required to be masked at all times.

*Some artist contracts may require masking, however, you will be notified by email and on our website if that is the case for a particular performance.

NOTE: If you are not feeling well prior to a performance, and believe it could be COVID, stay home and we will refund your tickets.

Added Safety Measures in place:

  • Ventilation – Soka Performing Arts Center exceeds ANSI/ASHRAE Standards 62.1 and 62.2, which are the recognized standards for ventilation system design and acceptable indoor air quality (IAQ). The Performing Arts concert hall’s constant air low velocity distribution air handlers have a minimum of 12 air changes per hour which were designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, and effectively exchanges the air in the concert hall 12 times per hour.
  • Disinfection – Restrooms and high touch surfaces (e.g.: door handles, stairway handrails, elevator buttons) are cleaned and disinfected regularly by our custodial staff.
  • Hand Hygiene – In addition to Soka PAC’s ample restroom and hand washing facilities, hand sanitizer stations are available at every entry point into the concert hall.
