About the artist:

Karen is a Laguna Beach, California-based artist who works in a variety of media, including pen and ink, watercolors and pastels. Her work has been published in books, national print publications and online. Karen exhibits her work during the summer at the Sawdust Arts Festival in Laguna Beach. She also teaches art classes and workshops throughout Southern California. Karen's subjects include marine and freshwater animals (especially those native to California and the Pacific), general wildlife art, and landscapes. "Conservation through appreciation" is a guiding principle behind her art, and a portion of all proceeds generated from her art go to supporting conservation efforts.
