Floyd’s 99 Barbershop Mural
approved 8/2017
This mural depicts icons of Costa Mesa’s past. The black-and-white panoramic mural at the former Floyd’s 99 Barbershop was approved by the city’s Development Services Department. The 17th Street barbershop mural features iconic images of businesses and people associated with the city – from Grant Boys to Kona Lanes and Social Distortion singer Mike Ness. “It’s part of our brand to help accentuate the culture in the town we open up in,” Alex Dean, content manager for Floyd’s 99, said. “We’re trying to show off what that town was and still is with a a little bit of old and a little bit of new.”
