Hands-On Art Making

Art Studio and Glow Cave Hands-on Art projects are complimentary with Kidseum admission. Art Studio Diego Rivera Water Colors
Children will create drawings inspired by the images in the exhibition Popul Vuh: Water colors of Diego Rivera (currently on view at the Bowers Museum through May 29). They will then learn and apply basic water color techniques such as wet-in-wet and dry brush painting and mixing colors to create their own Popul Vuh artwork.

Children can color a cartoon portrait of Diego Rivera’s famous artist wife, Frida Kahlo.

Glow Cave

Neon Paper Sculptures
Construct your own neon paper structure in the Glow Cave.

Abstract Coloring
Color abstract designs using neon crayons and pencils and watch them glow under the black lights.
