In observance of Asian/Pacific American Heritage (AAPI) Month, "My Heritage, My Dance" (MHMD) is an initiative designed by the Pan America Chinese Dance Alliance (PACDA) to assist college students of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage in preserving and passing on their cultural heritage through dance. Through the provision of grants, sponsorships, and performance opportunities, MHMD endeavors to support individual dancers and dance organizations in showcasing traditional cultural heritage overseas while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion both in academic and non-academic settings.

The MHMD 2024 Grant Application requires applicants to submit a project proposal that their organization will complete within the 2024-2025 school year to qualify for the grant. The project can be in the form of a showcase/performance, cultural event, film, or other formats. While the format is flexible, the ultimate goal must be to promote cultural heritage through dance.

Grant amount: up to $5000.00 USD  |  The following are the application criteria:

  • The organization must be a current registered active college/university Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Dance Club/Organization.
  • The organization must have a mission that focuses on traditional dance and promotes cultural heritage.
  • The organization must demonstrate continuous club activity that is dedicated to preserving and carrying on heritage culture through dance.
  • The organization must provide proof of a registered campus financial account.
  • We ask that applications do not include any religious or political content.
