Recently, many of us found our home and studio practice colliding in an effort to retain our creative outlets during the midst of a global pandemic. The Huntington Beach Art Center (HBAC) asks, what did you do to fill your time and express your creative energy?

Local, regional, and national artists, all mediums are invited to participate in the HBAC's virtual celebration, COVID-19 Creativity, Art Through Adversity.

Online Submissions Accepted:  August 10 at 10 a.m. through August 15 at 5 p.m.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to any living artist 18 years of age and older. All entries must be original works of art made during 2020.  No work made prior to 2020 will be accepted. Work submitted must not have been exhibited at The Huntington Beach Art Center in any prior exhibition. Artists may submit up to two (2) original works of art. This is a virtual exhibition and will take place entirely on our website and promoted through HBAC's social media accounts. Please submit a high resolution (150-300 dpi) image of your work in one of the following formats: JPEG, JPG, PDF, PNG, TIFF, or GIF. Please include your First and Last Name and the Title of your work in the Filename of your submissions. We request that you provide an artist statement describing your inspiration to be included with each submission. Please limit your statement to no more than two sentences, so that it will fit on the website and will identify your work during the exhibition. Artist Council members will have prefered exhibition space. Not a member? Join today!

LIMITATIONS
Absolutely no prints or reproductions will be accepted. No seasonal crafts. Please do not submit unfinished artworks as we will not be responsible for any further modification or care needed for completion. HBAC reserves the right to refuse work that it deems unsuitable for a general audience or images of low quality. Works must be exhibited for the entire duration of the show. No exceptions will be made to take down a work before the exhibition end date. Works by the same artist are not guaranteed to be displayed together. There will be no negotiation between the artist and HBAC to show the works in a specific way. Artworks will NOT be made available for sale through the Art Center for this exhibition.
