Open to artists who are residents of Orange County and ages 18 or older. Exhibition of small 2D and relief artworks.

Requests for Artwork
Artwork drop-off: Saturday, March 14, 2020, between 9:00 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Eligibility
Entries will be accepted from residents of Orange County ages 18 or older. All entries must be original artworks created within the past two years and have not previously been exhibited at City Hall.

Honorarium
First place: $500, second place $250, third place $125, and City Hall Choice $50.

Competition Description
“Art That’s Small At City Hall” is an open exhibition coordinated by the City of Laguna Beach Arts Commission. All works deemed acceptable will be exhibited at Laguna Beach City Hall, located at 505 Forest Avenue, from March 16 through April 17, 2020.

Entry Requirements
A fee of $15 will be charged with one entry allowed per artist. Payments by check must be made payable to the City of Laguna Beach or cash payment is accepted. Artwork must be no larger than 12” along any edge, including the frame, and 3” in depth. Artwork may include oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, drawing, mixed media and relief. Artwork must be dry, in suitable display condition, and securely wired for hanging. The Cultural Arts Department, Arts Commission and appointed exhibition juror(s) retain the right to reject any submissions that do not fit the guidelines or spirit of the exhibition or that may be deemed inappropriate.

Timeline
Saturday, March 14, 2020
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Artwork, with applications attached, and entry fee must be delivered to the main entrance of City Hall, 505 Forest Avenue. Any work submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Thursday, April 2, 2020
5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Reception and awards ceremony held at Laguna Beach City Hall.
Friday, April 17, 2020
9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. (only) Exhibition closes. Artwork must be collected from Laguna Beach City Hall.
