The California Arts Council is seeking nominations for the next California Poet Laureate.
The California Arts Council is designated to recommend individuals to the Governor of California for the position of California Poet Laureate. The California Poet Laureate shall be appointed by the Governor. This appointment requires Senate confirmation.
Selection criteria and nomination requirements are listed here.
Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. January 28, 2022 to poetlaureate@arts.ca.gov.
Eligibility is limited to current California residents living in California for at least 10 years.
