Call for Craft & Art

The Greater Denton Arts Council in Texas presents the 36th Materials Hard + Soft International Contemporary Craft Competition & Exhibition.  Works produced by local, national, and international artists media: clay, fiber, glass, metal, paper, wood, or any combination of media, are acceptable.  All work must be made between 2020-2022.

Recognized as one of the premier craft exhibitions in the country, Materials: Hard + Soft began in 1987 and was originally initiated by area artist Georgia Leach Gough. Each year approximately 70 works from the hundreds submitted are selected by an esteemed juror for exhibition at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center.

Exhibition dates:  February 3 through May 6, 2023

Entry fee: $35. Entry fee scholarships are available

2023 Jurors are Kathy Brown, Harlan Butt, Brooks Oliver, Talor Roderick, Sam Slovak, James Thurman, and Shannon Driscoll.   Questions about the call can be emailed to exhibit@dentonarts.com.
