Announcing the 2021 Judith Hendler Design Competition in partnership with the Huntington Beach Art Center

Answering the base needs of self-expression and protection from the elements on the human form, the competition is inspired by traditional multi-functional garments like the Caftan, Tunic, and Poncho.

DESIGN CHALLENGE:
Create a garment using this simple pattern to embody sustainable design ethos: re-use, recycle, up-cycle.

ELIGIBILITY:
Participation is open to regional community college fashion design students with a faculty sponsor or HBAC members 18 years of age and older.

AWARDS:
Cash prize awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Community College Fashion Student and HBAC Member categories.
