Huntington Apartments Courtyard Sculpture

Richman Capital invites professional artists or artist teams to submit qualifications to design and fabricate a three-dimensional sculpture for the exterior courtyard of at the Huntington Apartments in Duarte, CA. Preference given to artists who live and work in California.

Budget: $115,950

The Huntington development is a mixed-use building that features an opportunity for an exterior sculpture located in a small public plaza surrounded by ground level retail, office, and restaurant tenants as well as residential tenants on upper floors. The development is located in Duarte, a picturesque community in LA County about 30 minutes from downtown LA near the San Gabriel Mountains. Preference will be given to artists who live and work in the LA county area. The city of Duarte website can serve as a good resource for thematic ideas. Art + Artisans Consulting is handling the call for qualifications and will manage the design collaboration up through installation of all artwork. Artists will work with Art + Artisans Consulting to finalize design concepts for the project. Artwork must be suitable for exterior conditions as well as interaction with the general public and have the capacity to be securely installed in a public area. The work should be prominent and proportional to its surroundings and must be durable, sustainable and easy to maintain.
