OPEN CALL FOR LGBTQ+ VISUAL, LITERARY & PERFORMING ARTISTS 18+ (AND YOUTH ESSAY 16-21)
OUT LOUD: A Cultural Evolution will present the second annual LGBTQ+ arts festival in the neighboring city to OC, Long Beach, California, on June 29, 2019. To learn about last year’s festival, please visit http://www.outloudlb.com. We welcome all OC residents to submit their work.
Anyone who self-identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community is invited to submit work for consideration in the following categories: Visual Art, Literary Art, Performing Art, or Youth Essay.
We are looking for a diversity of mediums and perspectives, and want to showcase the best under the rainbow! We want you to talk to us. Tell us what you think, show us how you feel. Give us art that moves, challenges, inspires, and entertains.
The theme is: Queer Futures. If you’re not sure whether your work fits with the theme, send it to us anyway.
Our mission is to showcase the artistic & cultural contributions of the LGBTQ+ communities in Long Beach and beyond. We want this festival to highlight the lived experiences, struggles, joys, triumphs, and perspectives of all different types of queerness—through the power of art.
You must be available to physically attend the festival in Long Beach, Calif., on June 29, 2019. You do not have to reside in Long Beach, but all selected participants are responsible for their own travel costs to and from the festival.
Applicants can submit to more than one category (Visual, Performing, Literary, Youth) but will only be selected for participation under one category.

Please consider submitting a piece to our “performing artists” call to be considered at our OUT LOUD festival on June 29. Right now, our venue can’t have a PA system, so acoustic or one-mic performances preferred.
Share your work out loud!
