Teaching Artists

Huntington Beach Art Center (HBAC) is looking for fine artists who are excited about sharing their knowledge with others. Instructors are needed for a variety of classes, including drawing, dance, movement, kids' programs, jewelry design, performing arts, and more.

A contract instructor is an independent contractor for the City of Huntington Beach (City) who provides a service to the community in the form of a class, workshop, or camp.  Contract instructors are not employees of the City or HBAC.

Ideal candidates for contract class instruction are those with a fine arts background and previous teaching experience. They combine a sincere interest in community service with a desire to supplement their existing income.

The City's standard payment split for contract classes: 70% to the instructor, 30% to City.
