The Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA) seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Visitor Experience Manager to lead the visitor experience team. This is an exciting point in the museum’s evolution, as OCMA is in the midst of a historic transition to its new 53,000 square foot home at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California, currently under construction, and opening in October 2022.
The Visitor Experience Manager leads the hiring, scheduling, and training of Engagement Guides who welcome visitors to OCMA. Engagement Guides rotate between the admission desks where they welcome and orient visitors – and the galleries, where they create a friendly environment, engage visitors, and ensure the artwork is protected. Experience in management, hospitality, and excellent communication and organizational skills are key qualities. Knowledge of art history, education pedagogies, and/or museum studies beneficial.
