African Storytelling

Join us for African Storytelling with Michael D. McCarty at Pretend City in Irvine.  Michael will be weaving folktales from various parts of Africa as well as African-American tales. He also engages guests in call and response during his stories.

About Play Partner: Michael D. McCarty is a multicultural storyteller of African, African-American and International folktales. His stories inform, educate, inspire, and amuse. Michael has traveled to many countries as a storyteller over the past 25 years including South Africa, Zimbabwe, India, China, and Jamaica…and his travels have reaped a harvest of tales that testify to the unity within the diversity of the human spirit.
