ARCE presents Dr. Jennifer Miyuki Babcock at the Bowers Museum to discuss the scholarly bias toward human representation in ancient Egyptian art. She’ll investigate why Egyptologists have taken for granted that animals demonstrate higher levels of artistic freedom despite the numerous examples that depict similar, seemingly spontaneous movement and behaviors of humans.
