Beginning Oil Painting

This is a discovery class for beginning students to learn how to start working in oils. Expect to learn what supplies are needed, the difference between paints, painting surfaces, and mediums. This will be an information packed 10 weeks of study to help students think and work as an artist. Every week we will practice using the week’s key concepts: supplies, color theory, design and composition, keying paintings, creating focal points in a painting. We will reinforce each concept with practice. The practice will include master copies to familiarized ourselves with the medium to be followed with developing our own original art.
