Award-winning artist Calvin Liang will be teaching with a focus on painting on location from direct observation. Plein air painting is a foundational part of training the eye to better understand the concepts of composition, design, and color harmony. Plan a composition that will most effectively capture your vision. See and use warm and cool color in landscape. Learn to command hardness and softness of the edges to create space in a painting. Consider the reasons for different paint textures and brushstroke direction. Simplify the subject through the use of design, value, color, and drawing and get the best results in a short time.
