Celebrate Giving Tuesday with Blind Children’s Learning Center

Blind Children’s Learning Center (BCLC) – an Orange County nonprofit that prepares children with visual impairments for a life of independence – kicks off fundraising season to support this often overlooked population of students, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

Join BCLC on Instagram Live 11/28, 11/30, and 12/1 to learn how to support our children.  Plus, thanks to a generous $50,000 matching gift, any donation made through December 31 will be matched, doubling your impact!

2020 has been a year like no other, but despite its challenges, BCLC has continued to provide necessary support, tools, and resources to the children and families they serve.

To cap off the year, BCLC will host amazing Instagram Live event on Giving Tuesday (12/1) – a global movement unleashing the power of people, organizations with incredible students, employees, and influencers in support of BCLC’s amazing children.

Saturday, November 28: A brunchtime kickoff event including a performance from BCLC alum, Lily G. (age 15) and a special message from President and Executive Director, Angie Rowe. Tune in beginning at 11 a.m. PST and get in the giving spirit with a lineup of inspirational Instagram Live events to come.

Monday, November 30: Beginning at 7:30 p.m. PST, join BCLC for a compelling discussion via Instagram Live between visually-impaired athlete and motivational speaker Jake Olson and Huw Mainwaring, father of BCLC student, Maxen, about early intervention, life as a visually-impaired athlete, and how one can adapt after receiving a diagnosis.

Similar to Maxen, Jake lost his vision at a young age and remained determined to achieve his goals despite his blindness, ultimately playing for the USC football team as a long-snapper. Maxen and Jake will virtually meet for the first time ever during this event, promising to be a touching and heartfelt moment.
