Hope Fest

Call Me Hope Club (CMH) of University High School, Irvine will hold its first annual Hope-fest at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, CA on March 15, 2015 to support and transform the lives of children in need, children who don’t have a home and children who are emotionally unstable because of intense trauma. Hope-fest aspires to reach out to the Irvine community and to show that there are people who are caring and supportive. There are children who need help everywhere in the world and CMH hopes to touch those in our own community. 
CMH reaches out nationally, locally, and state-wise. We are supporting Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch of Montana, an organization that helps abused children and at-risk kids, through this festival. We also work with Boys and Girls Club by providing volunteers to their centers, volunteering regularly there. Through this festival, together are raising money to help children who are abused, have mental illnesses, or have experienced childhood trauma, etc. Not only are we helping children in need, but also we are raising awareness that many children and friends around us need help. As a result, CMH and clubs are hosting a festival, a community service day, to help others, to support our community. 
We are a student run club premised on kids helping kids to bring hope to students with depression and suicidal tendencies, to reunite families, and to give love and support to youth who feel isolated and hopeless within our club, city, county, state, and in the nation. Hope-fest, a student- run and participated festival, has been very successful. We are the first group of students to host a city-wide event to support children in need including those who are depressed, abused, and are at-risk. The Mayor and City Hall will be attending our event and speaking at 2:00 p.m. High School students are invited to volunteer, perform on stage, and to bring their clubs to sell food and arrange games. Elementary and Middle school students will also be using the stage, set up booths with their ASB, and display art and science projects. Not only are families, students, and Mayor Choi coming to our event, school principals, the Irvine Fire Department, and the Irvine Police Department will also be there. 
We hope to inspire other children and our community to help each other. Hope-fest is hosted by UHS Call Me Hope and together with other high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools. Clubs will be hosting games and selling foods at the festival. Even though high school students seem small and powerless, we are students who hope to inspire and make a difference. There will be food and games; there will also be a concert for children, families, and at night, for teenagers.
